Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
There is no set timeline for this evidence based treatment, which includes a full psychological assessment and recommendations, as well as follow up sessions. This form of treatment includes elements of values clarification and mindfulness, and has been shown to assist with anxiety, depression, trauma, and even chronic pain.
Leslie's Story
"The emotional toll that caregiving takes is so real. My dad has Parkinson's disease dementia. I have been caregiving for him for five years now. It has been incredibly painful to watch his body and mind fade. He used to be in my corner - he was always teaching me things. Our relationship wasn't perfect, but at least I felt like he knew me.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helped me to notice the emotions that came up as my dad recognized me less and less, and still find ways to live my life in a way that felt meaningful to me."
